Assistance with ADL’s

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) refers to a person’s daily self-care activities: Assistance with ADLs can be an important aspect of in-home care as it allows clients to maintain their independence and quality of life.

There are five basic ADLs:

  • Eating
  • Dressing
  • Personal hygiene
  • Toileting/Continence
  • Transferring/mobility

There are three (3) basic levels of assistance in-home care that we assign to a client’s ADL needs:

  • Hands-On Assistance
  • Stand-By Assistance
  • Independent
