Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) refers to a person’s daily self-care activities: Assistance with ADLs can be an important aspect of in-home care as it allows clients to maintain their independence and quality of life.
There are five basic ADLs:
- Eating
- Dressing
- Personal hygiene
- Toileting/Continence
- Transferring/mobility
There are three (3) basic levels of assistance in-home care that we assign to a client’s ADL needs:
- Hands-On Assistance
- Stand-By Assistance
- Independent
